Raj Sharan is a husband, father of two, and a proud Newfoundlander by choice and by heart. Born in the United States and raised in Canada, Raj moved to St. John’s at the age of eleven and has called the province home ever since. He completed his bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in the environmental field at Memorial University, and has built a successful career in Information Technology.
Though his path has taken him away from Newfoundland and Labrador twice, Raj has always found his way back—driven by a deep commitment to his community and a belief in the province’s potential. A lifelong participant in sports and recreation, he understands the value of healthy, connected, and vibrant communities.
Raj is passionate about building a stronger, fairer future for Newfoundland and Labrador. He is especially focused on creating economic opportunities, ensuring healthcare is accessible to all, and supporting an education system where every person can achieve their full potential. He believes in a province where families can thrive, opportunities are within reach, and young people can build their futures right here at home.
