Biography

Frédéric Morin-Paquette a grandi en Outaouais, depuis l’école primaire à Rapide-Deschênes jusqu’au Cégep de l’Outaouais. Comme beaucoup, il a poursuivi ses études postsecondaires à Montréal, avant d’en graduer en enseignement.

Déjà, à cette époque, son engagement et sa sensibilité écologiques s’expriment à travers divers projets, comme celui d’une vidéo interdisciplinaire en art visant à conscientiser les citoyens sur la pollution dans les rues de Montréal. Il est revenu en 2024 d’un séjour de deux ans en Colombie-Britannique, où il est allé faire ses classes comme enseignant de primaire en école internationale francophone. Là encore, il a pu y promouvoir ses idées sur le développement soutenable, notamment à travers nos gestes quotidiens et nos habitudes de vie. Il aime courir, jouer du piano, pratiquer les activités de pleine nature ou tout simplement cultiver son jardin ! Il travaille actuellement comme enseignant titulaire en cinquième année, à l’École internationale du Mont-Bleu ; il profite de cet environnement de travail stimulant pour commencer divers projets écologiques et les partager en ligne auprès de la communauté des professionnels en éducation, parce qu’il a à cœur notre avenir collectif. 

Pour lui, les principes de justice sociale et de justice climatique sont les deux faces du même défi majeur de ce siècle, à savoir la crise climatique. Mais, loin de céder à la déprime et au défaitisme, il croit dans l’action, dans la communauté et dans l’altruisme, et propose un programme réfléchi, équilibré, mais audacieux. « Il est encore possible de réduire l’impact des changements climatiques, par des mesures raisonnables, fiscalement responsables, et à coût nul, et permettre ainsi de vivre mieux sans dépenser plus. Arrêtons de douter de nos capacités de rayonner d’un bout à l’autre du pays et passons à l’action!
