West Vancouver is our home where for over 40 years we have enjoyed being part of a vibrant community of friends and neighbours; my children graduates fom West Vancouver public schools.

My journey in the West Vancouver school system began as an active PAC member and fundraiser at Irwin Park Elementary. My master’s studies on hold due to our growing family, I was fortunate to be employed with the school district as a library assistant at Sentinel Secondary School. This led to a long and rewarding position with the West Vancouver Teachers’ Association, where I witnessed and benefited from the respectful, collaborative, and constructive working relationship the district maintains with its partners and stakeholders.

During this period, I also enjoyed many years of volunteering Special Olympics BC, championing the athletes and serving as a Local Coordinator, then as a Regional Coordinator with a seat on the Provincial Leadership Committee. I currently serve as Co-Local Coordinator for Special Olympics – North Shore. I am also a member of 100 Women Who Care North Shore.

The best trustees understand that their job is to be well-informed and to work collaboratively with their fellow trustees to set direction, ask questions, build relationships, and hold the system accountable. I will listen to students, families, and educators, and bring their ideas and concerns to the table, working to ensure every child has the opportunity and support to learn, belong, and thrive.

My work and volunteer roles have given me strong communication skills and institutional experience in governance. I would be honoured, with your support, to bring this experience to the role of school trustee and serve collaboratively with my fellow trustees.
