Biography
I have worked as a secondary classroom teacher, primary special education teacher, International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme educator, and Vice Principal. I've taught in Ontario to Hong Kong and British Columbia, giving me a broad perspective on different educational systems, approaches to learning, and the needs of students and school communities.
These experiences have allowed me to understand education from many perspectives. As a classroom teacher, I supported students through their academic and personal development. In special education, I worked with students with diverse learning needs and saw the importance of providing the right support for every learner. Through the IB program, I focused on high educational standards and preparing students for future success. As a Vice Principal, I worked alongside students, families, educators, and support staff to help lead a school community.
I believe strong school leadership starts with listening, collaboration, and a clear focus on student success. I am committed to advocating for students, supporting educators and staff, and strengthening public education in North Vancouver.
I bring more than two decades of practical experience, a commitment to inclusive and high-quality education, and a strong belief in the role public schools play in building healthy, connected communities.
Reason for running
I believe we need to strengthen support without lowering expectations. As a Trustee, I will bring my experience as an educator and school leader to advocate for students, invest in strong public schools, and help ensure the resources students and educators need reach our classrooms.
