Rick Ocean is a Delta parent, entrepreneur and community leader running for Delta School Board Trustee with Achieving for Delta.

He brings more than 15 years of experience in business management, sales development and organizational leadership, with a focus on strong planning, accountability and creating opportunities for young people.

Rick is the Co-Founder of Body Energy Club, which grew from a single Vancouver location to 27 locations across North America. Through that work, he developed extensive experience in business development, financial planning, customer service, branding, project management and leading teams.

Rick is a dedicated parent and community member in Delta. He and his wife live in Tsawassen, and both their children play Hockey in SDMHA, Delta Stars and South Delta United’s (SDU) youth soccer teams.

Rick continues to be involved in the South Delta community, beginning on SDU’s strategic planning committee and now as the president of SDU’s board of Directors since 2023.

Rick is passionate about helping build strong community programs that give children opportunities to develop, compete, build confidence and stay connected.

Rick believes his experience growing organizations, managing teams, developing partnerships and planning for the long term can bring a practical perspective to the Board of Education. He understands the importance of setting clear goals, using resources responsibly and working collaboratively to deliver results.

As a parent and community volunteer, Rick wants Delta schools and community programs to continue providing young people with strong opportunities to learn, grow and succeed.

Rick is running for School Board Trustee to bring his experience in business leadership, strategic planning and community service to public education. As a Delta parent and President of South Delta United, he wants to support strong opportunities for young people while bringing a practical, collaborative and results-focused approach to the Board of Education.
