Biography
I first learned about the Green party in 2004 when my mother ran for the Green Party in Moncton/Riverview/Dieppe area. This formed the start of my support. I’ve always had an appreciation for nature and want to help push forward the green movement we are especially needing at this time.
In the past 10 years I’ve been a stay at home mom, a secretary assistant, hand-solderer, and now an education assistant. I’ve lived in Nova Scotia for 6.5 years and spent my earlier years in New Brunswick.
I took an education assistant course and graduated with honors in May of 2022 from CDI College. I am a parent and citizen that hopes to provide my time and skills to the Green Party to promote environmentally focused change.
I work well as part of a team, or individually, and know I would be a good fit as the GPC candidate for Halifax. My love of nature, attention to detail, organization and communication skills would make me a great choice to represent the party. Also, as a parent and concerned citizen I have a passion and dedication to supporting and helping build a more sustainable future, to make good use of my strong Green values.
I enjoy becoming more involved in my community such as with the group ACORN (a group uniting communities for social justice), LeadNow (volunteering with their election squads), and FairVote (helping advocate for electoral reform and citizens assembly). In my free time I enjoy reading, knitting, spending time with my daughter and our pets, and learning to grow food.
Thank you,
Amethyste
