Jules Côté was born and raised in Abbotsford and is currently a student at the University of the Fraser Valley. Outside of her studies, she volunteers with the Food Bank, Starfish Pack, and her church.
Through these experiences, she has seen firsthand how many in her community are struggling to put food on the table. Her volunteer work sparked her passion to get involved with the Worker Solidarity Network and BC’s New Democrats. This gave her the chance to hear from her community members about the issues that really matter to us, and taught her how to stand up to corporate power and win. But it also showed her how deeply the federal government had failed to stand up for us.
Growing up just down the road from Cooper farm and watching it be torn up has given Jules an understanding that to take on corporate power we must stand with all working people—farmers, workers, and small businesses owners alike—who make our economy run. That’s why she joined the National Farmers’ Union: to fight for the people who feed us.
Jules believes Mission—Matsqui—Abbotsford deserves an MP who will stand up for us, because corporations have had their governments—it's the people’s time.
