Biography

from their website

Marty Simms is a dedicated individual with a clear vision for change, driven by both personal experience and a strong sense of civic responsibility. As an independent IT consultant and legal guardian of his autistic son, Marty brings a unique perspective to his political aspirations. His deep roots in Ottawa—growing up on Southmore Drive, living in Lowertown for 24 years, and being the son of a WWII veteran and a CRA tax expert—have shaped his practical, community-focused approach.

Marty’s alignment with the People’s Party of Canada (PPC) reflects his rejection of mainstream parties like the Liberals and Conservatives, particularly due to their ties to the military-industrial complex. He strongly opposes the $143 billion already spent on foreign wars, including Ukraine, and advocates redirecting these funds towards domestic priorities such as affordable housing, disability programming, border security, and tackling the fentanyl crisis. Marty takes pride in his Canadian heritage and believes that national sovereignty should be at the forefront of policy decisions.

His platform emphasizes protecting freedom of speech, bodily autonomy, and human rights. Marty actively participates in peaceful demonstrations, demonstrating his commitment to advocating for individual liberties. As a principled advocate, he is determined to ensure that Canadians’ voices are heard and respected.

Running for Parliament in the Vanier–Gloucester riding, Marty Simms is motivated to transform his ideas into tangible actions, championing practical solutions that put Canadians first.
