My father was born in Canada and served in the Merchant Marine, his father served in the Navy in World War II. My mother was a ships steward and immigrated from British Guyana. Together my parents made a home on Vancouver's North Shore. My first of many journeys off the continent was to South Africa to volunteer and work with inter-racial youth groups during the death throes of Apartheid. Here I witnessed and took part in seeing youth from disparate backgrounds and cultures breaking down barriers and building bridges of understanding and love.

Locals near downtown Johannesburg said they were surprised by how quickly I connected with and helped local homeless youth displaced by violence eventually get off the street.

I am a compassionate conservative who can bring a well spring of creative ideas and will encourage all of government to work together and work alongside religious groups, social agencies and businesses to help better the lives of all Canadians first. Then we can better reach out to and help the rest of the world from a healthier place.

Integrity, responsibility, transparency and accountability in government starting with all our own personal relationships at home is key to better families and a better country.

It's a tough road ahead but together we can make a positive change for our children.
