Biography
Ryan Slaney is an expert in national and cyber security with over two decades of professional experience, now serving as the People’s Party of Canada (PPC) candidate for Bedford-Sackville-Preston. His career spans both the private and public sectors, where he has consistently demonstrated a commitment to protecting Canadian interests and strengthening cybersecurity capabilities.
Ryan has held key national security positions, including his role as a Senior Cyber Intelligence Officer with the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS). During his time at CSIS, he led investigations into state-sponsored cyber threats, briefed senior government officials on national and international security matters, and represented Canada at international security conferences. His tenure provided him with a deep understanding of geopolitical dynamics, international affairs, and the operational structure of the Canadian government.
Ryan holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Saint Mary’s University, where he developed a strong foundation in macroeconomics, microeconomics, global trade systems, and economic policy. This education, combined with his technical expertise, allows him to analyze how economic and trade policies impact national security and prosperity.
A proud resident of Bedford, Nova Scotia, Ryan lives with his wife and three children. He is deeply involved in his community, volunteering as an assistant coach and safety advisor with his local hockey association, where he helps foster a safe and supportive environment for young athletes.
