Canada is ruining itself by destroying productive individuals with crushing tax and regulatory burdens. My platform is development focused. Canada needs to build. This building must be done by private enterprise. Pipelines must be built as essential infrastructure.
Affordability & Housing
Food prices
Canada needs to become highly productive again in order to keep costs down. Food prices are a symptom of the overall decline in Canadian economic activity.
Fuel and transportation costs
Canada must remove all taxes on consumers and companies as they relate to fossil fuels.
Home construction and supply
The housing crisis was caused by the Liberal government allowing for levels of immigration that outpaced housing supply. Reducing immigration will solve this crisis. Open up public lands to construction.
Post-secondary costs and loans
Student loans are being widely taken advantage of. Most students take them out at 0% interest and invest the money. Make loans have market rate interest.

Clean energy
Export Canadian Oil and Gas without restriction.
Electric vehicles
Canadians should be able to choose to drive whatever car they want without government coercion. Whether that is a Tesla or a gas guzzling diesel is none of the business of government.

Anyone found with any fentanyl at all will face life in prison without parole on the first offence.

Cut international aid. Spend that money on ensuring all the people in Canada are housed and fed. We will begin international aid once the homeless population in Canada is fully housed.
Iran
Sanction Iran as much as possible. Crack down on Iranian interference in Canada. Denounce the clerical regime.
Israel and Palestine
Complex issue overall. Canada must ensure that foreign conflicts do not become domestic issues. Violent Pro Palestine protests must result in arrests and jail time.
National defence
Canada must spend vastly more on national defence. The CAF must be ready to respond to full scale war immediately all the time.

Lachlan Van Egmond is a patriotic Canadian born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. He is currently studying electrical engineering at the University of Victoria and has worked in high tech space technology as well as up North in Fort Mac at an oil company.
Reason for running

If I do not take action and do everything I can to save Canada we will not have the semblance of a country left within a decade. Canada is on the path of decline. Something must be done to stop this decline.
