Mark MacDonald is the Conservative Party of BC candidate for Nanaimo-Gabriola Island.

For more than 20 years, Mark has run his own successful publishing and communications companies. With his wife Lise, he published five editions of the Business Examiner covering most of British Columbia, and wrote columns on business, economic and political issues. Together they own and operate Communication Ink Media & Public Relations Ltd. Mark also served as Managing Editor of the Nanaimo Daily News.

Mark has long been a leader in his community. As President of the Greater Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce, he guided his team to be named BC Chamber of the Year in 2003. Today he serves as President of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League.

An award-winning writer, Mark is the author of It Worked For Them, It Will Work For Me: The 8 Secrets of Small Business I Learned From Successful Friends, which Dr. Peter Legge called a “must read” for business people of all ages.

Mark will bring that same practical, results-focused approach to Victoria, working to grow the local economy, support small business and deliver for the people of Nanaimo-Gabriola Island.
